The Automation Engineer II will safely implement cost savings and quality improvement measures through automation to our processes at the plant. This position technically supports, implements, and improves the Automation and Industrialization Engineering department’s automation projects. The Automation Engineer will lead or assist in the designing, building and implementation of internal automation projects with the focus on the controls needed in a team environment, as well as any external automation projects for production and application engineering. Understanding of the site’s manufacturing processes in injection molding and executing loss analysis for the purpose of designing more efficient gains will part of the team’s responsibilities as well. Utilization of project management skills to define, plan, track, document and bring projects to successful completion on time. The position also mentors automation interns and other team members in controls.
  • Designfull automation systems both mechanically and electrically
  • Work with engineering teams to integrate automation designs into production
  • Develop electronics and programming for internal automated systems for manufacturing
  • Assess current efficiencies and develop proposals for improvements
  • Develop training materials and programs for support staff for automation that has been implemented
  • Develop operation manuals and electrical schematics for automation systems


Required Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering role
  • 3 years’ experience in automation engineering

  • Proven knowledge in industrial camera systems
  • Working knowledge of robotics programming
  • Strong troubleshooting in electronics
  • Proven good project management skills-set
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills to work collaboratively with other departments
  • Strong technical communication skills (presentation, project summary documentation)
